Cortem Conductive Springs

CortemĀ® conductive springs combine the strength and high temperature properties of steel with the conductivity of copper, providing an efficient brush spring and a functional current conductor.

  • In many applications, eliminates need for a shunt
    • In others, provides a parallel conductor to shunt for maximum reliability
    • Increases brush performance by 20 to 30 percent
  • Manufactured from copperclad 17-7 PH stainless wire
    • Provides excellent mechanical and electrical properties
  • Available in a wide range of wire sizes, spring dimensions and configurations
  • Available in two conductivities:
    • 30 percent and 40 percent
  • Utilizes CortiteTM construction in attaching spring to brush
    • Insertion of spring into hole in head of brush
    • Prevents brush head from loosening
    • Usable brush length is extended by depth of the hole
    • CortiteTM spring/brush assembly can be automated vs. hand assembly
  • Toledo Commutator Company can custom design springs to fit operating parameters
